• About Samaritan Fellowship

    Since 1958, the Samaritan Fellowship, a nonprofit ministry, has strived to carry out the Lord’s admonition to help our neighbor. Our purpose is to help those who have exhausted every available means for providing adequate shelter, utilities, medical care, fuel, vehicle repair, short-term shelter, food, clothing, and other emergency services. We serve families living in the Carlisle Area School District, South Middleton School District, and Middlesex Township.

July 3rd interviews

On Saturday, July 3rd, 9 clients were interviewed by Samaritan Board members at the Carlisle United Methodist Church. The needs presented were 1 for car insurance, 1 for car payment, 1 for car purchase, 2 for electric, 4 for rent, and 1 for shelter. $3,001.85 was expended to assist clients.

June 26th interviews

On Saturday, June 26th, 14 clients appeared at Carlisle United Methodist Church to be interviewed by Samaritan Board members. The needs presented were 4 for car repair, 1 for gasoline, 1 for mortgage, 6 for rent, and 1 for utility gas. $3,861.35 was expended to assist clients.

June 19th interviews

On Saturday, June 19th, 3 client appeared at Samaritan Fellowship for assistance. The needs presented were 1 for car payment, 1 for lot rent, and 1 for rent. $2,086.82 was expended to assist clients.

June 12th interviews

On Saturday, June 12th, 7 clients appeared at Carlisle United Methodist Church to be interviewed by Samaritan Board members. The needs presented were 1 for ambulance, 1 for cable, 1 for car repair, 1 for child care, 1 for electric, 4 for rent, and 1 for storage. $2,435.00 was expended to assist clients.

June 5th interviews

On Saturday, June 5th, 9 clients were interviewed by telephone by Samaritan Board members. The needs presented were 1 for cable, 1 for car insurance, 1 for car payment, 1 for car repair, 2 for electric, 4 for rent, 1 for shelter, and 1 for water damage. $1,874.00 was expended to assist clients.

Client Assistance in-person ONLY beginning June 12, 2021

Beginning Saturday June 12, 2021, Samaritan Fellowship will resume holding in-person interviews at the new Carlisle United Methodist Church (CUMC) facility located at 333 Spring Garden Street (just past the Giant store on Spring Garden).  Clients should arrive between 7:45 AM – 10 AM on Saturday morning for their interview that day.

Clients should follow the signs along the entrance road which will direct them to the “Community Groups” section of the facility located to the right of the main entrance to the CUMC Worship Center.  At this time we will require all clients to wear masks upon entry into the church and during the interview.  We also ask that only the client seeking assistance comes to the interview.  Any accompanying family or friends will have to wait outside the facility as there is no way to accommodate extra persons at this time.  Thank you!

We will no longer conduct interviews by telephone as a regular part of our assistance process

On Saturday, May 29th, 9 clients (1 mid-week) were interviewed by Samaritan Board members by telephone. The needs presented were 6 for rent and 3 for shelter. $2,013.02 was expended to assist clients.

May 22nd interviews

On Saturday, May 22nd, 9 clients were interviewed by telephone by Samaritan Board members. The needs presented were 1 for car repair, 1 for electricity, 5 for rent, and 3 for shelter. $1,494.35 was expended to assist clients.

May 15th interviews

On Saturday, May 15th, 8 clients were interviewed by telephone by Samaritan Board members. The needs presented were 1 for car insurance, 1 for gasoline, 1 for hearing aid, 3 for rent, and 2 for shelter. $1,782.10 was expended to assist clients.
