• About Samaritan Fellowship

    Since 1958, the Samaritan Fellowship, a nonprofit ministry, has strived to carry out the Lord’s admonition to help our neighbor. Our purpose is to help those who have exhausted every available means for providing adequate shelter, utilities, medical care, fuel, vehicle repair, short-term shelter, food, clothing, and other emergency services. We serve families living in the Carlisle Area School District, South Middleton School District, and Middlesex Township.

April 16th meeting

On Saturday, April 16th, 14 clients appeared at Samaritan Fellowship for assistance.  1 car for repair, 2 for electric, 1 for furniture, 1 for lot rent, 4 for rent, 1 for Security Deposit, 3 for shelter, and 1 for water.  $1,598.96 was expended to assist clients and 1 was provided furniture.  6 were referred to other agencies.  17 Board Members were present to assist clients

April 9th meeting

On Saturday, April 9th, 18 clients appeared for assistance and 1 mid-week action was authorized.  1 for bus tickets, 2 for car repair, 4 for electric, 2 for gas utility, 1 for medicine, 11 for rent, 1 for shelter, and 1 for water.  $2,346.15 was expended to help clients and 8 clients were referred to other agencies.  17 Board Members were in attendance to assist clients.

April 2nd meeting

On Saturday, April 2nd, 13 clients appeared at Samaritan Fellowship for assistance.  1 for birth certificate, 1 for bus pass, 1 for car insurance, 2 for furniture, 1 for electric, 2 for gasolene, 4 for rent, and 1 for gas utility.  $661 was provided for client assistance and 1 client was provided with furniture.  5 clients were referred to other agencies.  19 Board Members were in attendance to assist clients.

March 26th meeting

On Saturday, March 26th, 17 clients appeared at Samaritan Fellowship for assistance:  2 for car repairs, 3 for electric, 2 for fuel oil, 3 for furniture, 1 for gas, 6 for rent/Sec. Dep., and 1 for storage.  10 clients were helped with $3,245.40 in cash assistance and 3 were provided with furniture.  3 were referred to other agencies.  18 Board Members were in attendance to assist clients.

March 19, 2011

On Saturday, March 19th, 14 families/individuals appeared at Samaritan Fellowship for assistance. 1 for a Birth Certificate, 1 for a bus pass, 1 for electric, 1 for a fine, 1 for furniture, 2 for gasolene, 2 for lot rent, 6 for rent, and 1 for water/sewer.  9 clients were helped with $2,026.70 in cash assistance and 1 was provided furniture.  2 clients were referred to other agencies.  19 Board members were in attendance to assist clients.

March 12, 2011 meeting

On Saturday, March 12th, 11 clients appeared at Samaritan Fellowship for assistance: 1 for car payment, 2 for car repairs, 1 for gasolene, 1 for furniture, 1 for heating oil, 3 for rent/security deposit, 1 for shelter, and 1 for utilities.  7 clients were helped with $2,349.13 in cash assistance and 1 was provided with furniture.  1 client was referred to another agency.  14 Board members were in attendance to assist clients

March 5th meeting

On March 5, 2011, 15 clients appeared at Samaritan Fellowship for assistance:  2 for car repairs, 1 for electric, 2 for gas/heating oil, 5 for rent, 1 for shelter, and 4 for furniture.   9 families were assisted with $2,186 of cash assistance and 4 with furniture.  1 client was referred to another agency.  17 Board members were in attendance to meet with clients.

Client Assistance Provided in 2010

In 2010 we received 986 applications, 629 families/individuals received financial assistance for fuel, utilities, rent, furniture, medical care, short-term shelter, and other emergency services, for a total client assistance of $192,740.31.  In addition, furniture valued at $18,590.00 was provided, or delivered, to 105 families through our furniture ministry.

This is our very first post!!  We are excited about moving into the 21st century and keeping you up to date on our ministry.  How grateful we are for all the financial and prayerful support we receive from the churches and community and for those who volunteer every Saturday morning to assist those with emergency needs.
